To do this, we seeking to integrate a System Administrator into our team.

We need an experienced Systems Administrator to handle advanced infrastructure management, ensure business continuity, and lead critical IT projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Required: 3 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2 years in a senior role supporting macOS environments.
  • Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure management (e.g., Google Workspace), remote device management, identity management and automation.
  • Proficient in macOS MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf, Kandji) and security tools (e.g., Okta or integrations) for remote work.
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and implementing security best practices for remote environments.

Responsibilities

  1. System Administration & Maintenance (40%):
    • Administer and maintain macOS environments, ensuring devices are secure, updated, and running optimally.
    • Manage cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., Google Workspace), ensuring uptime and system performance.
    • Perform regular system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery planning for a remote-first organization.
  2. Performance Benchmark: Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical systems, with security patches applied to all devices within 3 business days of release.
  3. Security Management & Compliance (20%):
    • Implement and maintain robust security protocols across macOS devices, windows devices and cloud infrastructure, including encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and mobile device management (MDM).
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) and internal security policies.
    • Participate in regular security audits and respond promptly to vulnerabilities or breaches.
  4. Performance Benchmark: Ensure 100% security compliance and mitigate identified vulnerabilities within 3 business days.
  5. Network & Remote Connectivity Management (15%):
    • Optimize and troubleshoot remote network performance, including VPNs, cloud services, and collaboration tools for distributed teams.
    • Ensure secure and efficient connectivity between remote employees and company systems, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and remote work tools.
  6. Performance Benchmark: Achieve 99.5% uptime for remote collaboration tools (e.g., VPN, Google Workspace) and resolve remote connectivity issues within 4 hours.
  7. Project Management & System Upgrades (15%):
    • Lead IT infrastructure projects, such as cloud migrations, remote device management enhancements, and system upgrades tailored to remote teams.
    • Collaborate with departments across different time zones to align IT initiatives with business needs.
  8. Performance Benchmark: Complete 95% of IT projects within scope, time, and budget as agreed with stakeholders, accommodating remote team needs.
  9. Team Leadership & Mentorship (10%):
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior systems administrators and IT support staff working remotely.
    • Develop and enforce remote-friendly IT policies, best practices, and documentation standards.
    • Lead knowledge transfer and training sessions for the team on remote support tools and macOS administration.
  10. Performance Benchmark: Deliver at least 2 remote training/mentorship sessions per quarter with positive feedback from team members.
